Yes, that is the PPA i'm talking about too. It is maintained by just one maintainer and hence is is lagging. (As I mentioned it still has 2.5.8)
I actually filed two bug reports for the problem.
The incoming crash bug has been fixed.
Although, you are still unable to make/receive audio/video calls, pidgin doesn't crash.
The guys there say that its a bug in farsight 2 and not in Pidgin..
